A-10 Thunderbolt II Lamp and Challenge Coin Display

$1,250.00

The A-10 Thunderbolt II is a thoughtfully hand-crafted piece of art, a touch lamp with 3 modes: low, medium, high, and a Challenge Coin Display. The A-10 engines are 30 mm shell casings same as fired from the A-10 main cannon, and have mock turbines displayed within. Scrap pieces from an A-10 30 mm cannon were used in the engines and main gun. A communication antennae is attached to the top of the plane with magnets (behind the cockpit) and is removable. Eleven pylons and semi-recessed main landing gears line the undercarriage, and the munitions we chose to represent were based on real-life munition-loading restrictions.  This aircraft is mounted on a large, curved transmission ring and is set to look in-flight, with a slight nose-up, to display the undercarriage. The base is made of a planetary gear, pulley, and transmission parts and can hold up to 25 coins. This piece comes with 10 coin holders (each additional is sold separately at $3 per coin holder). Two LED chandelier base bulbs inside the fuselage can be accessed by a hinged door on the bottom of the aircraft (see image). **Note: If out of stock, this item can be back-ordered and takes appx. 2 – 4 weeks to make. While the aircraft will look similar, there may be different metal parts used, especially for the base.  Parts are pulled from what is available in our scrap metal stock.
